POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
Hello! i am going to talk about postgraduate studies.
I am only at first year, but i have some specialities that i am interested in, they are pediatric dentistry and periodontics.
That can obviously change in the future and with future i am talking about tomorrow or one hour, for example, when i started the career i was sure i wanted to be a maxillofacial surgeon because it is a really fun speciality and i compared it with medicine, but i thought about it and i don't want it anymore.
I like pediatric dentistry because, as i said it in my last post, i love children. It is a huge challenge because they are not patient, they are afraid of pain, they don't feel comfortable with a person putting their hands in their small mouth. But, i don't care about it, i would do my best for them.
Then we have periodontics, i like it because periodontal diseases are a big problem in this country because people doesn't know how to brush their teeth, so they get plaque into their gums, or in a easy way, dirt builds on teeth and gums and that becomes a big problem in the future.
Having a speciality helps you to have a better salary, but in this moment i am more interested to be in the public system to help people who really needs attention in oral health, i would like to improve their quality life and for them is hard to get an attention with an specialist because of the expensive treatments and consults, so i think it is more important to prevent.
I would love to study out of Chile, in someplace with better and a different system of education, but in this moment i am not really aware of the best universities in dentistry, but i think it wouldn't be a problem to me to keep in Chile. For studying i think i would do it in person and also with groups of study.
Well as i said it in the beginning, i am only in first year, i don't know a lot about specialities and i only have ideas about it, so i will maybe change this or keep it in mind, who knows?
Thanks for reading

I also thought for a while to specialize in maxillofacial surgeon, but now I think it is probably the most difficult specialty to tackle, luck with your choice, we still have a lot of time!
ResponderBorrarThe pediatric dentistry It's one of my options too! I think this postgraduate course is one of the most interesting and also one of the most difficult, because just how you said, children are always so afraid to go to the dentist
ResponderBorrarI do not like pediatric dentistry ><
ResponderBorrarPediatric dentistry is a big challenge but if you like children it's a great idea!
